Rain or shine, doing work

Hello everyone this is Christian L., Paul B., and Dustin O. Writing to you tonight. Today was a challenging yet rewarding day. Because for the first time, the weather as not in our favor. It was also challenging because we are starting to feel tired, however we pushed through feeling tired to get a lot done and to have a lot of fun with the kids at vbs. VBS today was the best day so far. The kids were there early again waiting for us to arrive. It makes us feel appreciated and humbled. It was the best day so far because we have all gotten to know the kids more. Everyone has a special friendship with at least one vbs child or family. Tomorrow is going to be a very difficult day for all of us because it is our last day with the kids and none of us want to say goodbye. They are such new and fresh relationships that it will be incredibly difficult to leave. It saddens us that we can't visit them on a regular basis. When we returned from VBS we had lunch. At lunch they served us stuffed peppers which is a traditional Mexican dish. Every meal has been cooked from scratch with tender love and care. We are deeply appreciative for the people who cook our meals. During our work projects we continued to work on building a sidewalk between the dinning hall and the dorm rooms. We learned that in the next couple of weeks they will be hosting bros who are wheel chair bound, these paths will be a signifact help to these fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. When we learned that it motivated us to finish the project even when the torrential rains tried to stop us. We ripped our shirts off and out manned mother nature. The other groups also worked hard and through the rain. Sally and Tacho bought 50 flower pots for each student (the siblings are pairing up) to decorate to leave here at MVM, so students rotated in and out doing that project. Other students painted the basketball court, hung the basketball backboards, and painted the playground. The guys were able to share in a memorable "bromantic" experience after the blood, sweat and tears that were shed while they worked. (You will have to ask them about it). Our large group session tonight was full of energy, emotion and God's power. This trip has been uplifting, enlightening and heart-warming and we are very blessed to work with Tacho and his amigos. We are doing excelente and we will return with (hearts) that will forever be thankful for what and who we have in our vidas. (lives) Adios, Christian, Paul and Dustin A note from Melanie - everything is going better then I could have ever imagined. MVM is such a special space and I know every student amd adult leader loves it here. This has been one of the most joyful trips that I have ever had the pleasure of a part of. The students have worked so hard all week and have enjoyed each others company so much. As I write this write now the students started their own worship session outside. They are singing song after song about God's love and faithfulness with such passion. These student are truly aamazing and God is clearly working in a deep and powerful way in each one of their lives. Thank you for the prayers, please keep them coming!
